The a simple definition derived from the Royal Institute of Canada…..an architect is a professional who is qualified to design and provide advice – both aesthetic and technical – on built objects in our public and private landscapes……also a person who is authorized or licensed to call themselves an “architect” in order to practice architecture.
The Architects Act was set to;
i) to establish a Board of Architects of Papua New Guinea; and
ii) to provide for the registration of architects; and
iii) to provide for the establishment of a Register of Architects and for the appointment of a Registrar; and
iv) to provide for the regulation and; control of the profession of architecture; and
v) for related purposes,
Made by the National Parliament to come into operation in accordance with a notice in the National Gazette by the Head of State, acting with, and in accordance with, the advice of the Minister.
