Papua New Guinea is home to the only school of Architecture and Building in the Pacific, excluding Australia and New Zealand. In order to become an architect one must undergo a five year degree program at the PNG University of Technology in Lae.
Upon completion of the course, the graduate must then work for a minimum of five years to gain relevant experience and training. At this point, the architectural graduate can then pursue architects registration based on relevant requirements set by the PNG Board of Architects (BOA). If they meet the requirements, the BOA can then register the applicant as a licensed Architect.
